A congress of coordinators of the “Immortal Regiment” action was held in Donetsk
A meeting was held in Donetsk dedicated to the International Patriotic Action “Immortal Regiment” in the Republic.
The corresponding video recording was published on the official website of the DPR Ministry of Information, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, who took part in the event, noted that every year the number of participants in the “Immortal Regiment” is growing, so the organizers need to approach their work with full responsibility.
“The Donetsk People's Republic continues to prepare for festive events dedicated to the Year of the Great Victory. “The Immortal Regiment” as an international patriotic action is already a unique tradition. And this year, of course, should be no exception.
Moreover, we are celebrating 75 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Taking into account external circumstances that correct all aspects of our lives, we must continue to prepare, think through all the backup options - how we will act in the event of various situations that, alas, may arise on the eve of and during all holiday events, in particular 9 May,” said the head of state.
In turn, Deputy of the People’s Council of the DPR, head of the public organization “Young Republic” Kirill Makarov noted that preparations for such an important event are underway, no matter what.
“We perfectly understand the importance of this action in the Year of the Great Victory, and, in spite of everything, we are preparing to carry it out...
This promotion evolves in the Russian Federation and around the world every year. Every time certain innovations are introduced, and the Donetsk People’s Republic is no exception,” he said.
Larisa Trimbalyuk, coordinator of the International Patriotic Action “Immortal Regiment” in the Donetsk People’s Republic from 2015 to 2019, recalled that the “Immortal Regiment” was held for the first time in the DPR on May 9, 2015. Then the victorious formation gathered 3000 like-minded people. The campaign now covers 19 cities and more than 150 thousand participants.
Concluding the discussion, Denis Pushilin emphasized the need to develop backup options in case of quarantine. According to him, I would not like to postpone the event, so it is necessary to think about this issue.
