Presentation of the book “90 days in captivity” took place in Donetsk
The DPR hosted a presentation of a book by journalist Elena Blokha, who visited the dungeons of the SBU.
The book, which is dedicated to the realities of political prisoners in Ukrainian prisons, is called “90 days in captivity.”
“The history of the creation of this book is very complicated. “90 days in captivity” - and the title speaks about what is contained in this book. This is the diary of a political prisoner. For a very long time I could not publish this book; I faced many difficulties. And today you see the first 25 copies here on the table,” said Blokha.
She promised that this would not be the last presentation, and also said that the book contained her diary about life in prison, as well as materials from the criminal case.
“Here are excerpts from the site where I was working as editor-in-chief at the time. Because I wrote news about the Donetsk People's Republic in my newspaper and on my website, I was considered a terrorist.
In fact, when we began to figure it out, it turned out that all my fault was that I, as a journalist, did not leave Donetsk, continued to work, communicated with all the participants in this conflict, and covered all this in my publication.
Guys, colleagues, let's speak frankly, who would do this if so many really got up and left? Moreover, at that time, the rating of the municipal newspaper website increased sharply, because at that time there was very little information, our portal provided people with information every day. We did this not for ourselves, but so that people would know the truth about what was happening with us. Which is, in fact, what I was accused of,” said the journalist.
She thanked the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin and the head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement Alexey Muratov for their help in publishing the book.
“I would like to hand over two books to the head of the DPR Denis Vladimirovich Pushilin, who took a personal part in getting this book published. The second book is to the head of the Central Executive Committee, Alexei Muratov, who became the central locomotive for getting this book published. I am immensely grateful to them, they helped make my dream come true. “Thank them very much,” concluded Blokha.
Thank you!
