On behalf of Oleg Tsarev, deputies of the parliament of Novorossiya, together with the Russian community of Donbass, opened another bomb shelter, which is located in the Kiev district of the city, at school No. 57.
The school was built back in 1955, and its layout includes a basement located at a sufficient depth underground.
There are two exits in this basement, which is very convenient if suddenly the building collapses in the event of an air raid or shelling. The room was put in order: cleared of rubbish and debris, and disinfected. They brought an autonomous electric generator, mattresses, blankets, candles, supplies of medicine and water. We established communication with local residents for quick notification.
“In the current difficult situation, we are trying to equip as many bomb shelters in the city as possible. God forbid that both this and other shelters will not be useful to the city residents. So that they stop bombing us. So that we all have a peaceful sky above our heads,” said Alena Yakovenko, a representative of the Russian Community in Donbass. “I also want to thank the deputies of the Novorossiya parliament for always being with us, always ready to help solve any problems.”
“In these harsh times, I would like to thank everyone who is helping us open bomb shelters. I would like to express special gratitude to the school director, because the shelter opens here. It's probably not very good when bomb shelters are opened in schools. Still, it would be preferable if we opened some new clubs today at the educational institution. But, unfortunately, in our troubled times, shelters are needed to save lives.
The lives of children, the lives of those people who have not left the city, who may have nowhere to go, and who can be saved precisely thanks to this shelter. I want to express the hope that we will live to see the days when bomb shelters are mothballed, when human rights are respected in the Donbass, when they stop bombing us, including with prohibited weapons, which are used by the Kiev army against completely peaceful people,” the member of the Novorossiya parliament emphasized Irina Popova.
Vasilina Berezhnaya, acting director of the educational institution, on behalf of the residents of the microdistrict, expressed gratitude to everyone who helped in organizing and equipping the bomb shelter: “Now we at least know where we can find salvation in case of danger,” she said.
