As of 12 o'clock, part of the airport was occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to unofficial information, last night Ukrainian troops broke into the suburbs of Donetsk. Seven civilians died overnight. At the moment it comes from rocket artillery, self-propelled guns and large-caliber barrel artillery, "Peonies". According to eyewitnesses, a Tochka-U strike was carried out on the outskirts.
In turn, the ATO headquarters states that the massive fire at the Donetsk airport is not a violation of the “Minsk agreements.”
As stated by ATO speaker Andrei Lysenko, on January 17, the ATO headquarters decided to conduct a massive operation to clear the area near the airport in Donetsk from militias. According to him, the operation was a success.
