On the eve of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the capital of the DPR, a memorial plaque to the outstanding native of Donbass Joseph Kobzon was unveiled on the facade of the building of the Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The head of the Donetsk city administration, Alexei Kulemzin, noted that this place was not chosen by chance, since Joseph Kobzon has repeatedly performed on the stage of the Donetsk Opera House, supporting the residents of the Republic in the most difficult times.

“We are proud of our great compatriot and will always remember him, so I once again want to say words of great gratitude to Joseph Davydovich for everything that was done, and this memorial plaque is our confirmation and gratitude,” added Kulemzin.

Chairman of the Board of the regional public organization "Community of Donbass" in Moscow, State Duma deputy Gennady Onishchenko emphasized that Joseph Kobzon is not just a list of titles and high-profile titles, but a phenomenon in Russian culture and in Russian intellectual life, because, being of Jewish nationality, he was a sincere patriot of the multinational family of peoples living in the Russian Federation.

“Joseph Davydovich is not in the physical world now, but he is with us, and his peculiarity is that he will live and help us as long as they remember and sing his songs,” the parliamentarian said.

After the grand opening, those present laid flowers at the memorial plaque, and the head of the Donetsk State Philharmonic, Alexander Paretsky, performed the famous song “I love you life,” which was sung by Kobzon.

Also on the same day, a memorial plaque to the famous Soviet singer Tamara Miansarova, who dedicated twelve years of her life to Donetsk, was unveiled on the building of the State Academic Philharmonic.
