The question included in the ballot is: “Do you support the act of independence of the state Donetsk Republic?”
“The question means one thing – the right to self-determination,” Roman Lyagin, Chairman of the DPR Central Election Commission, said during a press conference.
Users of social networks report that at some polling stations, for example, in Mariupol, there are queues of people wishing to vote for the independence of the DPR.

In Lugansk, polling stations also opened at 8:00. According to the press center of the headquarters of the United Army of the South-East, the referendum began without provocation or incident.
“The only thing is that in some polling stations they are trying to sabotage the referendum and are not letting people in, they are not opening polling stations. Then we redirect people around the area to nearby sites,” the press center reported.
On social networks, users actively share their impressions. They say that everything is quite organized and the turnout is high. There are queues for ballots and St. George ribbons, which are issued in a “set”. There are many people who want to vote, but the commissions cope.
Official Kyiv and the oligarchs supporting it are trying to create confusion. Thus, it is reported that in parallel with the referendum on self-determination, a survey is being conducted “on the annexation of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions into the Dnepropetrovsk region.”
The idea of this “trolling” is associated with the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Igor Kolomoisky.
