According to him, on Monday night, his eldest son Alexander was returning by car from friends: in Kyiv - in the Nivka area - a Lanos crashed into his car, which was moving in the oncoming lane at high speed.
“The son moved a little to the left, so the impact fell on the empty passenger seat. He had minor injuries to his legs, but then the airbag saved him,” said Yuriy Lutsenko, which caused confusion among social media users about the pattern of the accident.
“Unfortunately, the person who crashed into my son’s car died. This is an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, also a young guy, born in 89,” he said, noting that his son was tested and underwent examinations, which proved that he was not driving while intoxicated.
“There are materials from surveillance cameras of neighboring houses that prove that my son was not the culprit of the accident. After conducting investigative actions and taking tests, he arrived home at approximately 6 am. Of course, he is in a state of semi-shock, but I stand for complete transparency of the process and all investigative actions,” says Lutsenko.
According to the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv, Alexander Tereshchuk, proceedings have been opened under Part 2 of Art. 286 (violation of road safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles, which resulted in the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code, which was transferred to the investigative department of the prosecutor's office.
