The Duma calls for a ban on detailed information about school killers in the media
In order to protect Russian youth from bad deeds, it is necessary to prohibit the publication of detailed information about murderers and saboteurs.
This was stated by United Russia deputy Artem Metelev during a plenary meeting of the State Duma, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We managed to reduce youth crime by half. Yes it is. In the “zero” years, as in the “nineties,” more than half of those who committed crimes were young people under thirty years of age.
Now there are two times less of them – 28%. Teenage crime has also halved over ten years.
However, young people often become victims of various information and psychological experiments, including by foreign intelligence services. They are trying to recruit schoolchildren and students on social networks, ingratiating themselves, blackmailing them, forcing them to carry out tasks in the real world,” Metelev said.
He stressed that it is necessary to prohibit the publication of any information about criminals in order not to advertise them.
“The year before last, according to the FSB, 22 attacks on educational institutions were prevented. Why is this happening? Most likely, due to the lack of psychologists in schools, proper examination of children, and early identification of risks.
But we also, as a society, glorify criminals ourselves. We quote them, publish suicide notes explaining the reasons, discuss portraits. As a result, a whole segment of people appears, especially at school age, who, having seen all this, begin to think: “Shouldn’t I do the same, shouldn’t I take revenge for all the insults and failures?”
Psychologists admit that it is precisely after information promotion in the media that the so-called social contagion intensifies - outbreaks of teenage suicides, school shootings, and so on.
And here the idea of the head of the Investigative Committee to prohibit detailed disclosure of information about the criminals who attacked schools deserves attention,” the deputy concluded.
