“I invited the heads of our special services, the Ministry of Defense, to the Kremlin, and set them the task of saving the life of the President of Ukraine; he would simply be destroyed,” the president said.
“Large-caliber machine guns were placed there so as not to talk for a long time. We prepared to take it out directly from Donetsk, by land, sea and air. It was between the 22nd and 23rd, we finished around 7am. And when we parted, I told all my colleagues: we are forced to begin work on returning Crimea to Russia,” added Vladimir Putin.
