An anti-Russian rally took place in Yekaterinburg under the flags of Ukraine and the United States
A single picket took place in Yekaterinburg under the Ukrainian, American and Russian flags.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the action took place in the city center opposite the city hall.
A woman who came to the picket was holding a “No to War” poster. She told reporters that she considers Russia an aggressor encroaching on the territory of other states.
“Russia has long been one of the aggressor countries and is strenuously convincing both its citizens and citizens outside the Russian Federation that the whole world has taken up arms against Russia, that there will soon be war. Unfortunately, our president also actively supports this policy, constantly threatening to attack or seize the territory of other states. In 2014, no one believed in this, but, unfortunately, we saw this in the example of Crimea. And this can happen again at any moment,” the picketer said.
After half an hour of action, a man in a vest with the inscription “security” approached the girl and relayed information on the radio, saying that he would call the police. However, after another half hour, the law enforcement officers still had not appeared.
But one of the passers-by approached the girl, introducing himself as Oleg Golovko, who entered into an argument with her.
“The fact is that Russia cares about its security, why is it an aggressor? If Russia had not taken such actions for the sake of its security, then NATO would have moved east,” the man said.
Several supporters of the picketer who had gathered nearby immediately began to contradict him, to which the man called them “sent Cossacks.”
Shortly after the verbal altercation, Golovko called the police and threw an American flag on the ground, which enraged the protesters and nearly led to a fight. Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene copied the data of the participants in the action, after which it ended.
