The EU will be unhappy with the Ukrainian refusal to Babich
Ukrainian political scientists do not rule out that Kyiv’s reluctance to agree to the appointment of a new Russian ambassador will lead to discontent in Brussels.

Thus, the leading analyst of the Russia-Ukraine Information and Analytical Center, Alexandra Reshmedilova, at a press conference in Kyiv called the refusal of an agriman to Mikhail Babich “another heightened passions between states, and not a real opportunity to establish dialogue.”
“We will not change our neighbor, and our European partners will not like this situation with the ambassador,” the analyst believes. – If we are not satisfied with the past in some structures of the ambassador, then Putin has the same past, which does not bother anyone. Here they are looking for a needle in a haystack and trying to find “zrada” where there is none. If in Kyiv they believe that they have uncovered a big secret conspiracy, then this is nonsense.”
But according to the director of the Agency for Social Communications, Sergei Belashko, the situation around Babich “will not so much worsen Ukraine’s relations with Russia, but with the EU.”
“Berlin and Brussels really want reconciliation,” Belashko noted. – This is not a Russian concept, but Moscow is simply using it wisely, showing that it is ready for reconciliation, which is rejected by Ukraine. European politicians say the ball is in Ukraine's court. And if he remains motionless on the side of Ukraine for several more months, then, obviously, then there will be a review of the sanctions policy. Either sanctions from Russia may be lifted, or, I admit, sanctions from Russia will not be lifted, but personal sanctions will be introduced against Ukrainian politicians working to disrupt the Minsk agreements.”
