There is a country in the EU that does not want to expel Russians and demands proof
Bulgaria will not expel Russian diplomats, because Sofia must maintain a communication channel with Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said this reports Reuters.
According to him, Bulgaria expressed solidarity with its allies in the European Union and NATO by recalling its ambassador from Moscow for consultations, but “additional evidence is needed” for further action.
“As the head of the European Council, we must maintain a channel of communication, as we did during times of excessive tension in our region with Turkey. We must do the same with Russia,” he noted.
In addition, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria noted that the Bulgarian ambassador will return to the Russian Federation after Easter on April 8.
“At this stage, we do not believe that we should expel Russian diplomats and officials,” Borisov added.
