The EU demanded that the Ukrainian security forces stop the street activities of the Nazis
The creation of private structures that will monitor compliance with law and order on Ukrainian streets is unacceptable.
The head of the EU Advisory Mission to Ukraine, Kestutis Lancinskas, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “New Time”, answering the question of what he thinks about the formations of right-wing radicals, in particular the “National Corps”, which become active participants in street life.
“The use of force by law is limited to state institutions such as the police and the National Guard. All other formations do not have the right to do this. And I hope that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies will take decisive action if these organizations begin to use force,” the European official said.
He invites young people who “want to serve their people” to go through a selection committee for the National Police or the National Guard.
“Go through your studies, take the oath and work. You can join the army. But creating private organizations that will deal with public order and arrest someone is a road to nowhere,” Lancinskas emphasized.
Let us recall that the “National Corps” is a right-wing radical party created on the basis of the neo-Nazi unit “Azov”, which is part of the National Guard of Ukraine.
And not so long ago in Ukraine, Azov militants announced the creation of so-called “national squads”whose goal is to “establish Ukrainian order.”
