The EU demands that Ukraine cancel simplified access to non-European drugs
Canceling access to the Ukrainian market for drug manufacturers from non-European countries is one of the priority steps that the Ukrainian government should take to stabilize the situation.

This was announced by the CEO of Medicines for Europe, Adrian van de Hoven, at the CPhI Worldwide forum.
Thus, according to Adrian Hoven, simplified access to the Ukrainian market for drug manufacturers from non-European countries contradicts the association agreement signed by Ukraine and the EU.
“We are clearly aware that the signed agreement with the European Union (on association - Ed.) and the changes that were introduced by the Ukrainian government, when manufacturers from Australia, the USA and other countries gained access to the Ukrainian market, obviously contradict each other and must be adjusted . Why should there be one approach to this issue in Europe, and a completely different one in Ukraine? This doesn't make any sense. I think we will work to bring this problem to the EU authorities and find a mutually acceptable solution,” he said.
As an alternative to the latest movement in the field of regulation of the pharmaceutical industry, European experts proposed considering the option of Ukraine joining the agreement on cooperation between drug regulatory authorities of countries associated with the European Union - New Collaboration Agreement of Drug Regulatory Authorities in European Union Associated Countries.
Let us recall that the association with the EU has actually placed the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market under the control of European manufacturers.
