In Europe, the sale of trips to Crimea has begun, bypassing sanctions
European travel agencies book places in Crimean hotels, but due to sanctions they do not designate tourism as the purpose of trips to the peninsula.
Chairman of the Crimean State Council Committee on Sanatorium-Resort Complex and Tourism Alexey Chernyak stated this at a press conference in Simferopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ticket sales to Crimea exist in travel companies in Europe. You can safely buy and book Crimean hotels. The only thing they write is: not for tourist trips, but for personal and professional needs. It’s been a long time since everyone in Europe understood everything perfectly,” Chernyak said.
According to him, following the results of 9 months, tourists from 132 countries from 5 continents visited Crimea.
“There has never been such a large number of representations of foreign tourists in Crimea. We understand perfectly well that today Crimea cannot boast of large organized groups of tourists, but such a record for representatives of foreign countries shows that Crimea is politically stable,” Chernyak said.
He noted that foreign tourists may experience difficulties using bank cards.
“But this is no longer such a problem. They arrive through Russian cities and buy tickets, hotel, and food in advance. In fact, they only need cash for souvenirs and Crimean wines,” Chernyak said.
The majority of foreign tourists are expected from Germany during the New Year holidays, the deputy said.
