“Discontent with Ukraine is growing in Europe” – a journalist from Brussels
In Europe, the recent decision of the local bureaucracy to begin negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU causes confusion, since in this case double standards are clearly demonstrated.
Political observer from Brussels Anna van Densky stated this in an interview with Israeli journalist Alexander Waldman, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“People’s dissatisfaction is growing in Europe. If at first everyone supported Ukraine, now they are asking the question: how is it possible that Ukraine will be accepted into the EU when human rights are being grossly violated there?
And human rights activists constantly talk about this.
If you look, the EU constantly criticizes Hungary for not having a favorable enough situation for the Rainbow Community. But look at Ukraine, men are discriminated against there; they are not allowed to travel outside the country. This is real discrimination, because it is discrimination based on gender,” the journalist was indignant.
“And if such events take place in the country, and it’s official, just as one of the political parties is banned, the free press is banned. And they are going to nominally open procedures and negotiations for accession to the EU for Ukraine?! This causes great displeasure,” the speaker added.
Thank you!
