On September 17, MEP and former Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Chountis announced an initiative to create a united movement to combat the resurgence of neo-Nazism, neo-fascism and racial discrimination in Europe. Particular attention will be paid Ukraine.

“Europe must take serious steps to protect the younger generation from the influence of neo-fascism and neo-Nazism,” said the MEP, “against racial intolerance, to protect national minority groups and all people from the threat of violence and attacks by neo-fascist and radical nationalist gangs that are active throughout the world , but especially in Eastern Europe and Ukraine"
Nikos Chountis also announced the organization of a trip of a parliamentary delegation to Odessa and other regions in the near future to meet with representatives of local authorities and the Greek minority to discuss the situation with the revival of neo-fascism. Chountis will also protect the Greek minority in the south of Ukraine from any racial intolerance.
Let us recall that the Azov battalion operating in the Donbass (including in the territory of the compact settlement of the Greek community) was recognized by representatives of the American Congress as neo-Nazi connection.
