The President of the Venice Commission called decentralization one of the key reforms for building democracy in Ukraine.
“The speedy adoption of the text by the Verkhovna Rada is now very important, given the local elections that are due to take place in October. And also to continue the dialogue on the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” Buquicchio said.
At the same time, the VC assures that they are ready to help in the implementation of the following reforms, in particular constitutional changes regarding judicial proceedings.
This week, as expected, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will introduce draft amendments to the Constitution to the Verkhovna Rada.
