Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in his speech, warned his colleagues that they should not start with accusations and ultimatums, and speaking about Ukraine, he called the country “a victim of external experiments.”

“Next, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin presented his view on the Ukrainian conflict, calling for maintaining “sanctions in response to aggression” for as long as possible. And behind him, having exceeded the regulations for the second time at the sound of the gong, US Secretary of State John Kerry made a compromise statement: mentioning the “occupation of Donbass and Crimea,” he at the same time called on Kiev to fight corruption - and then changed the topic,” the newspaper notes.

“On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Mr. Kerry clearly gave preference to the Russian rather than the Ukrainian minister: he managed to discuss something in a whisper with Sergei Lavrov in the meeting room, held two meetings - on Wednesday and Thursday - and then also had a telephone conversation. As the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday evening, as a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on a meeting of military experts from Russia and the United States on Saturday in Geneva.

Now representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Pentagon, together with diplomats, must finalize the document initially proposed by the American side, “determining the ways and means of leaving Aleppo for militants and those civilians who wish it.” At the same time, as Sergei Lavrov reported, a large-scale operation to evacuate civilians from the city began on Thursday: according to him, a column of 8 thousand people stretched “for five kilometers,” writes Kommersant.
