The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine threatens to clear Donbass in a couple of weeks
The Donbass republics will be defeated by the Ukrainian army in a matter of weeks if Russia stops helping them.
The head of the department for implementing service in the reserve mobilization department of the Main Personnel Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Mikhail Shcherbina, spoke about this in an interview with the Kiev publication “Day,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the colonel, who at one time worked as part of the Ukrainian JCCC group, there are “absolutely tiny numbers” of those willing to give their lives for the freedom of the LDPR, the main contingent of the People’s Militia corps, in his words, consists of “local bandits, adventurers and various bastards.” At the same time, civilians greeted the “liberators” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with delight.
“Being in the Donbass, when we went out into the city, we never hung ourselves with machine guns or grenades,” recalls Shcherbina. – We did not feel any manifestations of aggression or disrespect. On the contrary, most often local residents offered help. One day a little boy came up to us and asked if he could quietly say “Glory to Ukraine.” We were so touched by this."
The military man believes that the Ukrainian army is capable of clearing the LDPR in two to three weeks.
“But this requires the only condition - non-interference of the Russian army... If it weren’t for the invasion of Russian battalion-tactical groups in the summer of 2014, not for the shelling of our troops from Russian territory, we would have forgotten about the separatists long ago: we didn’t have just a few weeks to put an end to it all. And if Russia stops supplying the bandits with weapons, equipment and ammunition, then in a few weeks they will scatter in all directions,” Shcherbina said.
