The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine claims that an explosion occurred in Ichnya
Before the fire broke out, four explosions were heard at ammunition depots in the Chernihiv region.
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Rodion Timoshenko announced this at a briefing in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is noted that the explosions were recorded by sentries guarding the territory of the arsenal.
“According to the data of the Operational Group of the General Staff, which conducted a survey of sentries at the posts, they confirm the fact of explosions, that is, explosions, in four places of the arsenal, while these explosions were recorded in different places of the arsenal, as a result of which a fire broke out,” Tymoshenko said.
Prior to this, the military prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Negligent attitude of a military official towards service, if it entailed grave consequences, committed under the conditions of a special period, except for martial law.”
