A million Ukrainians settled in Germany. Half will not return home if there is Russian power there
As of early August, 900 Ukrainian citizens registered in Germany as refugees.
This was reported by the Bavarian publication Suddeutsche Zeitun.
According to surveys, almost 45% of refugees want to return home only if power is in the hands of the Ukrainian administration. If Russian power is established in Ukraine, then these people will prefer to stay in Germany. Two-thirds of the refugees said that they do not yet intend to return home and try to settle down in Germany.
At the same time, researchers note that compared to other temporary residents in Germany, Ukrainians here have many privileges. Moreover, the EU directive allows them to live and work in Europe from day one without having to go through multiple bureaucratic procedures to obtain asylum.
Also, according to the conclusion of another study, Ukrainian children immediately after arriving in Germany have the opportunity to receive an education, and therefore become schoolchildren in educational institutions. Researchers note that the level of education in each age group of Ukrainians is very high compared to other European countries.
According to German government statistics, of all arrivals from February to July, 97% are refugees from Ukraine, almost 65,7% of them are girls and women, approximately 37% are children and youth under 18 years of age, 59% of refugees arrived in Germany with their children, the average age of adults is 38 years. According to the survey results, 50% of Ukrainian refugees expressed a desire to stay in Germany.
As noted, refugees from Ukraine are helped with housing, employment, learning German, and enrolling children in schools and kindergartens.
