In Germany, Poroshenko is considered a clown - German MP
With his ridiculous performances showing pieces of a bus, Russian passports and the EU flag, the Ukrainian president gained fame as a clown not only in Ukraine, but also among the Germans.
Chairman of the Left party faction in the Osnabrück region and head of the People's Diplomacy project in Germany Andreas Maurer said this during a Skype conference on the Open Ukraine channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fact that Poroshenko is called a clown in Ukraine is no longer new. In Germany they call him more diplomatic - they simply say that he could act in the theater without any problems. Take at least latest security conference in Munich", Maurer noted.
“And in 2014, Klitschko, Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk were the people who were taken from one room to another, everyone wanted to take pictures with them, everyone wanted to communicate with them. They say, here they are, supposedly fighting for justice,” recalls the German deputy.
According to him, then Poroshenko began to improvise, every year increasingly abusing European hospitality.
“In 2015, Poroshenko arrived with some fragment of a bus, in 2016 - with Russian passports, found them somewhere or bought them. But what he did this time (when he arrived with the EU flag - Ed.): even in Germany they asked the question “What is the European Union doing there?”, the deputy added.
He admits that Poroshenko’s passage, to put it mildly, was not appreciated in Germany.
“No one responded to this, not in any newspaper. Then, look at yourself Poroshenko's speech in Munich. Apart from members of the delegation from Ukraine and a couple of Chinese journalists who simply got lost, there was no one there. Not a single photograph, not a single meeting, not a single specific statement. Poroshenko did not have a meeting with any minister. Therefore, I think that no one takes him seriously anymore. In my opinion, Poroshenko’s time has passed. I think behind the scenes they have either already found or are looking for his replacement,” Maurer is sure.
