Germany has allowed the use of Nazi symbols in computer games
Representatives of the German rating organization USK (Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle) reported that in computer games it is now possible to use and display symbols used to designate prohibited organizations, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The relevant information is published on the official website of the rating company.
As reported in the source’s material, swastikas and other previously prohibited symbols are allowed for display only in those computer games where the events are presented “critically” by the authors.
It is worth noting that the softening of the company’s policy was preceded by a series of debates in which the advisability of introducing censorship in computer games was discussed, where the course of events develops in such a way that Nazism is presented in a negative way.
Earlier it was reported that an offer was posted in one of the online stores in Lviv to purchase a soft toy in the form of Adolf Hitler. As the source reported, the “product” was posted on a popular classifieds website in Ukraine. In the description, its category was designated by the author as “Children’s World of Lviv” and “Toys of Lviv”. The cost of purchasing this doll was 40 hryvnia. The author of the ad emphasized the fact that his doll depicts the head of Nazi Germany as a “great leader.”
A case involving one of the students at a private school in the Australian city of Alice Springs also became famous. The student appeared before his friends from the Melbourne Jewish school dressed in an Adolf Hitler costume. The student's appearance took place during a special meeting dedicated to Book Week. Later it turned out that the school administration had previously granted permission for the teenager to come to the event in the above-mentioned image.
