This was stated in an interview with the Kyiv newspaper “Den” by a reserve colonel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from Donetsk, who for security reasons wished not to give his name.
According to him, the staff of the National Guard do not favor Ukrainian patriots:
“I was recently at the National Guard Headquarters and talked with my colleagues. They, for example, treat volunteer battalions with disdain. Recently I came with a proposal: “Give me the opportunity to command a battalion. I was born and raised in Donetsk, I know my city, and most importantly, I have the appropriate training and education. I can and want to fight." And they answered me: “Why do you need this rabble, do you know what kind of rabble there is?” the publication’s interlocutor is indignant.
Moreover, he added, uniformed Kremlin agents feel great in the management of one of the ATO strike detachments:
“As it turned out, half of the same Main Directorate essentially does not support the Ukrainian government. Some of the officers with whom I spoke tell me: “We are irritated by these Ukrainian flags, these slogans about a united country...”. “Why are you sitting here?” I say. Answer: “Where should I go?” That is, a person receives a salary from the Ukrainian budget, has an apartment, and it is possible that he earns extra money through fraud, while sitting and talking about how much he admires Putin. These people need to be driven out,” complains a Ukrainian patriot from Donetsk.
