Today Taruta was supposed to hold an off-site meeting for the first time in Gorlovka, but at the entrance to the executive committee he was met by protesters shouting “Shame.”

The protesters with posters “Taruta is a traitor to the people of Donbass”, “Shale gas is death for our country” also demanded the return of broadcasting of Russian TV channels, the Gorlovka.ua website reports.

“I came to talk to you. This is my first working visit to Gorlovka. I came to make your life better,” the publication quotes the governor as saying.

However, the picketers were not in the mood for dialogue. To the shouts of “Referendum!” Taruta had to stop the meeting and leave the executive committee.
