According to employees of the regional department, at around two o'clock in the morning, about 30 masked people with machine guns broke into the building. At that moment, there were 7 police personnel in the department. The masked people, first of all, handcuffed the duty officer and forced everyone to vacate their offices.
To all the questions they were asked, the militia responded that they had received a task from the decision-making center in the Internal Affairs Directorate - to seize the police department, reports the Gorlovka.ua publication. After that, they asked everyone to leave the premises and also released the duty officer.
The next place where the masked people went was the City Council. At the moment, the invaders control each of the entrances to the building, and armed activists are located directly in the premises. The back entrance is barricaded by three cars, including a Volkswagen transporter, similar to a cash-in-transit vehicle seized from PrivatBank.
As of 9 a.m., employees of the executive committee received orders to return to work. Now the employees of the institution are trying to improve the work process.
“We work, and these “little green men” just walk around with weapons. So far there have been no conflicts,” city hall employees said.
Employees of the executive committee said that the total number of invaders was 20 people in camouflage and with weapons.
