The State Duma is preparing punishment for trans-Ukrainian artists
Cultural figures who allow themselves to make anti-Russian statements should be deprived of royalties.
Nikolai Novichkov, a member of A Just Russia, stated this at a meeting of the State Duma of the Russian Federation today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Many cultural figures have recently shown not just an unpatriotic, but an anti-state position. At the same time, the cultural process does not stop.
In accordance with the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, we pay the Russian Copyright Society, the All-Russian Intellectual Property Organization, the Russian Union of Copyright Holders money for the use of copyright materials, the authors of which are splashing Russia on all sorts of platforms,” Novichkov said.
He proposes to suspend the payment of funds to Russophobic artists.
“Funds should not be withdrawn. They must be reserved in these organizations,” Novichkov said.
