The State Duma wants to make Russian citizenship accessible to all residents of Ukraine
The decree of the President of Russia on the simplified provision of Russian citizenship to residents of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions should apply to the entire territory of Ukraine.
State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Zatulin, the integration of the liberated territories is accelerating, but is still happening quite slowly.
“We probably have the impression that we are doing a lot, but I would be more modest and say that we, of course, strive to do something and we are doing something, but to the point where one could exclaim “Stop, just a moment, you are beautiful, like in Faust, you are still very, very far away.
Indeed, the president signed a decree extending simplified rules for granting citizenship to residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, just as before in 19 there was an important historical decree establishing such status for residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. First - for residents of the DPR and LPR, and then by the second decree - for residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions...
But already at the stage of the current military operation, in connection with the advance of Russian troops and the Donbass militia, questions arise in the Kharkov region. The new presidential decree, as we see, does not apply to Kharkov residents, because they are not residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. We simply cannot keep up with events. But it would be necessary to extend, it seems to me, generally to citizens of Ukraine. Not necessarily those living in Kherson, Zaporozhye,” said Zatulin.
