The State Duma named the names of two more officials who fled to the West
Communist Nikolai Kolomeytsev revealed the names of two more Russian officials who fled abroad.
He stated this today at a meeting of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday it became known about two more fugitives. Former deputy prime minister for the military-industrial complex and plenipotentiary representative in the northwestern district of Khlebanov was spotted in Mallorca. Well, first deputy head of Sberbank Khasis - of course, he is a US citizen,” Kolomeytsev said.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin suggested that the former officials could have been specifically sent to the West.
“You are doing the right thing by monitoring, keeping track of who is where. But let's coordinate this work with our services. Maybe they were sent there specifically. And the tasks may be different. And it’s still unknown with those who embrace them there,” Volodin said, hinting at yesterday's call by the leader of the New People party, Alexei Nechaev, not to condemn the fugitive representatives of the Russian elite, but to “embrace” some of whom turned out to be weak in spirit.
The speaker proposed to consider the information about the escaped officials at the security committee behind closed doors.
But Volodin supported Kolomeitsev’s second proposal. The communist believes that Russia should withdraw from all international organizations.
“In connection with the growing madness to impose sanctions, we propose to instruct the Economic Policy Committee to request information from the government on the feasibility and economic benefits for the Russian Federation of further presence in international organizations: the WTO, IMF, WHO and others. It would be nice for the deputies to see how much damage we have received from this. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry reviewed several industrial councils and came to the conclusion that exports fell by 8% during our stay in the WTO,” Kolomeytsev said.
