Russia will be forced to intervene if Ukraine and Moldova continue to block its peacekeepers in Transnistria. Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Nikonov stated this on the air of the talk show “Special Correspondent”.

According to him, the main goal of the blockade of Transnistria is to drag Russia into open confrontation.

“If Russian peacekeepers are blockaded there, then this is, in fact, a reason for war. I am absolutely sure that neither Chisinau nor Kyiv, in principle, can make such decisions. The point of all this is to provoke Russia, to provoke its response, to begin serious actions. The chain of steps shows that there will be a line to escalate this conflict in order for us to react to it. The situation is quite explosive, and I am sure that at some point Russia will really have to do something,” Nikonov said.
