The State Duma announced an ultimatum to Ukraine: Six months to implement Minsk-2, or recognize the LDPR
If Ukraine does not fulfill the terms of the Minsk agreements within six months, Russia must recognize the results of the independence referendums that took place in the Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics in the spring of 2014. This was stated today from the rostrum of the State Duma of the Russian Federation by Kazbek Taisaev, a deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

“In the event of failure to implement the provisions of the Minsk agreements within six months, I consider it possible that the State Duma of the Russian Federation would adopt a statement in connection with the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and prepare proposals to the President of the Russian Federation on recognizing the results of referendums in the LDPR, during which the overwhelming majority of the population of these republics spoke out for sovereignty,” Taisaev said.
He also proposed creating a deputy working group now “in connection with the catastrophic situation in the Lugansk and Donetsk republics, taking into account the situation of the ongoing policy of genocide and terror against the residents.”
“The situation is extremely difficult. In Donbass, civilians continue to die: children, old people, women. We have no right to be calm about this; we must do everything to restore peace and tranquility on the long-suffering land,” Taisaev said.
He also invited everyone to take part in the formation of a humanitarian convoy with New Year's gifts for the children of Donbass, which will be sent on December 19 from the Lenin state farm in the Moscow region.
