By the end of this year, a London court will rule in favor of Russia in the dispute over Ukraine’s non-repayment of a $3 billion loan taken during the time of Viktor Yanukovych and declared by the new Kyiv authorities as a “bribe for refusing European integration.”

This forecast was voiced by the head of the financial market committee, Anatoly Aksakov, at a meeting of the State Duma.

“Russia filed claims in the international London court regarding the $3 billion that were provided to Ukraine. The trial will now begin. All experts are confident that the decision for Russia will be positive. Accordingly, Ukraine will have to pay 3 billion in debt, as well as penalties, fines, and all legal costs. I think that this year there will be a corresponding court decision,” Aksakov said.
