The State Duma argued whether Russia is getting tired of its kings
The leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinosky, criticized the words of the governor of the Belgorod region, Yevgeny Savchenko, that Russia needs an enlightened monarchy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The governor of the Belgorod region, a communist, suddenly spoke out for the tsar. We realized that we have screwed up for 100 years, bring back the king. Why is this being done? A shepherd is needed. All the best people were shot and expelled,” Zhirinovsky said.
He himself, although he constantly criticizes the communists and the Soviet regime, opposes the monarchy in Russia.
“The people can live without a king. They were tired of the tsar because he did everything alone: he appointed ministers, there was leapfrog. And they were tired of Nikolai Alexandrovich. There is no need to come up with any political or military reasons. There was fatigue. Everyone hated the king, even his relatives. When they shot, no one shed a tear. And when Brezhnev died, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. When a ruler in Russia leaves, everyone sighs: finally,” Zhirinovsky said.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin objected to him.
“As for fatigue, you have been the leader of the party for 25 years, but no one is tired of you, you are elected and everyone is happy and expects you to run again. We need to figure out whether the ruler is tired and stagnant. Or maybe it brings progress and mood,” Volodin said.
