Russia needs all of Ukraine, not individual republics or even all of Novorossiya. Vice Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergei Zheleznyak stated this on the air of the talk show “Politics”.

True, speaking about all of Ukraine, Zheleznyak emphasized that it is needed not as part of the Russian Federation, but as a “friend and partner.”
“We need the issue of the future of Ukraine and Ukrainian regions to be resolved peacefully, in a civilized manner. We need, of course, all of Ukraine, but as a partner, as a comrade, a country that, together with us, defeated Nazism within itself. Therefore, there was no betrayal of Novorossiya - our task is not to get involved in the war, but to stop it,” Zheleznyak said.
