The State Duma proposes to respond to Ukraine by recognizing the LDPR
In response to Ukraine’s provocative actions on the border with Crimea and sabotage of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, Russia must decide to recognize the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.
The corresponding initiative was voiced by State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Sergei Gavrilov in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Russia must recognize the DPR and LPR and help hold elections there that will allow the establishment of a new legitimate government there,” the parliamentarian said.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he considered a meeting in the Normandy format pointless against the backdrop of the detention of Ukrainian saboteurs in Crimea. According to the President of the Russian Federation, “the people who once seized power in Kyiv and continue to hold it,” chose terrorist methods instead of looking for compromises.
