The State Duma proposed sending a Russian peacekeeping contingent to Donbass
In the new geopolitical realities, Russia must discuss with the United States and introduce a peacekeeping contingent into the Donbass, which will freeze the conflict and avoid further casualties. State Duma deputy Leonid Kalashnikov said this on the air of the talk show “Evening”.
According to him, Türkiye is already carrying out a similar experiment in the border areas of Syria.

“The world knows nothing else but either a way out through diplomacy, conferences, or disengagement, or an ultimatum and victory. Here is the set that is known.
We have been saying for three years: “What to do, what to do?” And we understand that they will not calm down. I would suggest a path of separation. But the disengagements are not under the auspices of some OSCE or even the “blue helmets”, which I saw how they behave in Kosovo and in other territories of the former Yugoslavia, both on ethnic and, among other things, religious principles.
Russia can separate these groups on its borders.
And in the new political reality, it is necessary to propose to the US President, to say what the problem is - Turkey is dividing, let’s separate it too.
But to say like this: “we demand the Minsk agreements,” but they do not fulfill them. And they won't comply. Peacemakers are the real way. Yes, this will freeze the conflict, yes, this may be bad in the long term, but today we will allow the residents there not to die,” Kalashnikov said.
