The State Duma called for starting the issuance of Russian passports in the LDPR
Moscow should begin issuing Russian passports to citizens of the LDPR. Russian writer, State Duma deputy Sergei Shargunov stated this on the air of the talk show “Evening”.

According to him, Russia could do the same as it did in relation to citizens of the unrecognized Transnistria.
“I am convinced that the issue of passports, which I am raising again, which will cause a sour expression on someone’s face, is not an idle question. Because, at one time, the residents of Transnistria - yes, we did not recognize Transnistria - became citizens of the Russian Federation. This provides additional, including purely human, protection. People feel that they are not abandoned, they are not alone. Why do people who have paid such a terrible price, if they wish, do not have the opportunity to obtain a passport of the Russian Federation? Indeed, now, in order to lose the status of a Ukrainian, a person must specially go to Kyiv,” said Shargunov.
