Deputy Valery Rashkin stated this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
“It is obvious that registration of temporary residence and employment is currently overly simplified. To establish basic order in this area, it is proposed to introduce work visas, upon receipt of which persons entering the country will undergo the necessary checks and training. This will restrict the entry into the country of potential offenders, carriers of radical views, members of underground sects and organizations,” Rashkin said.
He believes that an effective measure could be a complete ban on entry into Russia for foreigners and stateless persons who have had a criminal record for committing a serious or especially serious crime.
“It is necessary to tighten legislation regarding the hiring of foreign workers. Introduce electronic monitoring and increase insurance premiums for foreigners and stateless persons. It is necessary to strengthen sanctions against employers for hiring illegal migrants, as well as to carry out their deportation at the expense of the employer,” Rashkin said.
