Russia must protect Russians who live in the territory of the former Soviet Union.
The leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, stated this today from the rostrum of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He called for the restoration of the Russian world.
“Let it be within the borders of the former USSR or a little narrower. We must protect the state-forming people. We are the most multinational country, but it’s the Russians who suffer. Russians are being shot in Donbass – already more than 10 thousand. After the collapse of the USSR, among the 9 million refugees, 90% were Russian. They were expelled from Central Asia, the Baltic states, and Ukraine. We must protect them. We helped the Germans unite, but why can’t we help the Russians live within those walls under the full protection of our state,” Zhirinovsky said.
He also called for simplifying the procedure for issuing Russian passports.
“The Hungarians distribute passports to all Hungarians in Transcarpathia, the Estonians - to all residents of the Pskov region, Israel - to all Jews, the Germans - to all Germans. But the Russians are not given anything. He comes here and has been harassed for 8 years. People from Donbass and Eastern Ukraine need to be given a passport within two months,” the head of the LDPR is convinced.
