“Today at the same time, the Verkhovna Rada is adopting a law on quotas for the Russian language in the Ukrainian media. They pass laws against the language, close Russian schools, but why don’t we pass laws to protect the Russian language in our country and abroad, in schools, on signs and on TV channels?” - Didenko said.
He proposes to establish rules for the use of the Russian language on official platforms: in the State Duma, in the parliaments of the constituent entities, on state television and radio channels, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Otherwise it’s impossible to listen, Russian speech is clogged with Anglicisms and foreign words of German origin. Let’s in a year, on the day of the 1155th anniversary of the Slavic alphabet, we will pass a law to protect the Russian language from the Liberal Democratic Party,” Didenko made a slip, causing laughter in the audience.
“Do you seriously think such a law is necessary? It seems to me that Vladimir Volfovich will not support you,” joked speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
