The State Duma decided to fine Google for Crimea
Google should be fined for showing Crimea as a territory of Ukraine.
LDPR deputy Alexander Starovoytov stated this today from the State Duma rostrum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Go to Google maps and try to score Sevastopol or Simferopol. After that, click on the cross to delete. And you will see what is highlighted - Crimea is Ukrainian. Google should be fined for this, it’s not bad money,” Starovoitov said.
The proposal was supported by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
“You made absolutely the right statement regarding Google. She pursues policies in the interests of the United States, carrying out everything that the State Department dictates. If Google reflects Crimea as the territory of another country, this is a violation of our Constitution and laws. It would be right for the security committee to invite representatives of Google and express our position. And then – make decisions, we have opportunities, let’s use them. Otherwise, later they will cut off something else from us and assign it to another country,” Volodin said.
