The State Duma harshly criticized the allied “freeloaders” from the CSTO
Russia's CSTO allies often shy away from full participation of the armed forces in military maneuvers, but do not miss the opportunity to occupy leadership positions in the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
This was stated during parliamentary hearings by the ex-commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, deputy from the United Russia faction Vladimir Shamanov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What is going on in our country with our allies in both the CSTO and the CIS? We need to conduct an audit there. How to divide positions, so everyone is equal among equals, and when to take part in CSTO exercises, the country sends a motorized rifle platoon. And at this time, its representative is the Secretary General of the CSTO, “hey, hello,” he said indignantly.
Let us recall that the CSTO member countries, in addition to Russia, are Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
