The State Duma opposed raising the retirement age
In a country with so many dollar billionaires, like Russia, there should be enough money to pay pensions.
Such a statement was made today from the podium of the State Duma by LDPR deputy Alexander Sherin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A lot of government officials say: “Let’s not rock the boat and agitate the people.” I'd like to rephrase. Let’s not rock the yachts, because the largest number of yachts and dollar billionaires in the same country cannot be combined with a lack of funds to pay pensions,” Sherin said.
Sherin expressed the position of the LDPR faction.
“We are for reform, when pensions will be increased, but not when the retirement age will be raised. Let’s, dear colleagues, postpone consideration of this issue and write on the State Duma website the date, time and place where each single-mandate deputy will meet with his voters in his districts and hear their position,” the deputy suggested.
