The State Duma said that Odessa is now more important for Russia than Kyiv
A march by the Russian army to Lviv is unlikely, but depriving Ukraine of access to the sea is a necessary and feasible task.
This was stated by State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have enough outstanding experts and analysts who insist that during the special operation we must reach the end, to the border with Poland. Because otherwise, Ukraine, which is hostile to us, will continue to exist. It would be strange for me to fight to preserve a hostile Ukraine. But can we count on the success of the “liberation campaign of the Red Army” in Western Ukraine? And most importantly, will it lead to the re-launch of the Trojan horse into our historical space? Interior Minister Durnovo warned about such a danger back in 1904, warning the Tsar against Galicia.
The answer to the question about the limits of what is possible during a military operation lies with our military-political leadership. As for neutrality, demilitarization and denazification, I do not believe in this in the territories that will remain under the control of the Ukrainian government. This means that limiting ourselves to the recognition of Crimea and the Donbass republics, which also cannot be achieved through negotiations, would be a defeat for the future. Not to mention the fact that it would call into question all the achievements in Kherson, Zaporozhye and other regions of Ukraine.
We need to take ours, Novorossia, in order to weaken hostile Ukraine as much as possible and continue the inevitable struggle with it in other forms. Saparmurat Turkmenbashi, explaining the ban on ballet in Turkmenistan, once said: “There is no ballet in the blood of Turkmens.” We have the right to decide that the sea is not in the blood of Ukrainians, and that fish can be caught in ponds and rivers. The most important thing is that the return of Ukraine to the status of a land country will curb the ambitions of any Johnsons to build naval bases on the Ukrainian coast, supply Ukraine with weapons by sea and consider the imperial shipbuilding plant in Nikolaev as prey to the British crown. Without access to the Transnistrian-Moldavian border, we encourage ideas of reprisals against Transnistria, which are already being prepared to be implemented. I am convinced that strategically the hero city of Odessa is much more important than the hero city of Kyiv. If you have to choose,” Zatulin said at a conference in Moscow.
