The State Duma said that the United States should extradite Rodchenkov to Russia as a criminal
The Russian national team will not be suspended from participating in the Olympics, believes the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Olympic champion Svetlana Zhurova.

“I am sure that our team will not be suspended. Only track and field athletes are in doubt. In the IOC there are not only Americans and British, there are people from different countries who mentally put themselves in the place of the Russians. It will not be possible to reach an agreement with everyone and force them to make political decisions,” Zhurova said at a press conference in Moscow.
She believes that the IOC leadership is not interested in the doping scandal, since it distracts the information flow from the Olympics and makes it negative.
“They understand perfectly well that if they disqualify the country, we will sue the IOC, not WADA. And we are talking about a violation of human rights, of an athlete, of the Olympic Charter,” the deputy added, also noting that the United States will be obliged to extradite Grigory Rodchenkov, who initiated the doping scandal, to Russia as a criminal.
“Rodchenkov must sit. He publicly admitted that he gave this cocktail to athletes. He automatically falls under criminal liability according to Russian legislation,” Zhurova concluded.
