Anti-vaxxer propagandists began to be arrested in Greece
Athens prosecutors have authorized the arrest of lawyer Nikos Antoniadis, who led an anti-vaccination campaign, for “spreading false news.”
This was reported by Kathimerini, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Greek prosecutors have ordered the arrest of anti-vaccination activists who urge citizens not to get vaccinated or not to use health services because “they are putting their lives and the lives of others at risk.”
Thus, a new provision of the Greek Penal Code comes into force, implying punishment for the spread of false news.
The first sign of this process was lawyer Nikos Antoniadis, who was arrested under the sanction of the Athens Prosecutor's Office for “spreading false news” and “disobedience to authorities.”
At the same time, as the publication reports, the department has been investigating the activity and activities of Greek Covid dissidents for a long time. The arrested person claimed that Covid patients were put on ventilators for no reason, and vaccination had negative consequences for their health.
