“We saw the EU’s claims in the coffin” – Tsekov
Instead of expressing dissatisfaction with the situation in Crimea, Brussels should worry about its own problems.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, Sergei Tsekov, a senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from Crimea, stated this when answering the question of why the European Union was hostile to President Vladimir Putin’s decree banning foreigners from owning land in the border areas of Crimea.
“Because they consider the issue political. Why were they not at all concerned about the problem of ownership, for example, of the Motor Sich enterprise in Zaporozhye, where the Chinese owners had every right to dispose of it? Kyiv took this company from its rightful owner in the most unscrupulous way! It turns out that the European Union is on edge here,” the senator said.
He also recalled how the West came out in support of the independence of Serbian Kosovo.
“Then the British and Americans declared “the right of the people of Kosovo to self-determination”? And when they demonstrated their right to self-determination in Crimea, for some reason they refuse to recognize it. Yes, we saw their statements in the coffin!” Tsekov added.
As PolitNavigator reported", the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree “On amendments to the list of border territories in which foreign citizens, stateless persons and foreign legal entities cannot have ownership of land plots.”
