Georgian journalist Eliso Kiladze reported this on her Facebook page.
Saakashvili's grandmother Mzia Tsereteli died at the age of 85.
“Mrs. Mzia Tsereteli has died. My condolences to the families of Temuri and Giuli Alasania, Mikheil Saakashvili,” she wrote. Later, in the comments to her post, she clarified that the woman died at night.
Saakashvili will not be able to attend her funeral, since the current Georgian authorities have opened a criminal case against him.

Tsereteli is the same grandmother who, according to Saakashvili, supported him. In one of his interviews, the ex-president of Georgia said that he and his family do not have illegal income, and that his relatives earn good money: “They receive a good salary in Georgia.” “My grandmother works, my mother works, my wife works, I used to work,” Saakashivili said, explaining how much money he lives on.
