Georgia said relations with NATO are closer than ever
Relations between Georgia and NATO have never been as close as they are now, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili at the NATO-Georgia “Public Diplomacy Forum”.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, during his speech at the NATO-Georgia Public Diplomacy Forum, made a statement that relations between Georgia and NATO have never been as close as they are at this point in time.
“I would like to note that from the point of view of practical cooperation and political dialogue, there have never been such dynamic and intense relations with the alliance as in recent years and especially last year. We have confirmed that we are a reliable and worthy partner of the alliance,” the prime minister said in a statement.
In addition, the Prime Minister especially emphasized that “Georgia, as a possible NATO member, already has all the necessary tools to prepare for NATO membership.” In turn, NATO representatives already have an established conviction that active efforts are underway in Georgia to implement a number of measures to establish democratic reforms, modernize all units of the Armed Forces, as well as the country’s defense institutions.
Earlier, Jens Stoltenberg, who holds the post of head of NATO, made a statement that, for his part, he expects support from all members of this alliance in connection with the processes of Georgia’s accession as a full participant in this alliance.
